 A statue of Gandhi that we passed by while walking to one of field excursions,  who was always against war thinking there was a peaceful way to settle disagreements.  A bomb shelter at the Imperial War Museum used for families during world war 2. This was found at the John Soane Museum, this was the only picture I could find of these female manikins with male arms wrapped around them. This connects to a Room With a View because when Lucy was with Cecil he was trying to control her, much like the male arms wrapped around the female manikin in this picture.  This JMW Turner's painting, found in the Turner gallery at Tate Brittan named St Benedetto, looking towards Fusina exhibited 1842. This fantasy painting sends the message that to truly travel is to see the view from your own perception, not someone else's.  On the Tate boat, we got a view of the London Eye, the most typical London Tourist spot. Here I am standing with one of the many fountains at Hampton Court. This is significant because the fountain in Brideshead Revisited represents Charles's faith. Hertford College at Oxford University where Charles attended and learned to be skeptic   A tree right outside of the Church of Christ Chapel with the inscription "the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nation"  At the Eltham Palace, in the great hall I found it fascinating how on the top of every light they have a crown to symbolize the family's power.  This was in the stairway to Henry VIII's apartment in Hampton Court. Many of these figures in the painting are Greek gods or mythology characters.  

A governess would typically expect to live in a room similar to this one. A statue of Marcus Arulus a Ceasar of Rome who the orphanages used as a role model to the students because he was known for his wisdom and fairness. A painting showing the struggle a working class family has to go through to make ends meet. Orphans were forced to have un-inspirational quotes in the collar of their shirt to "teach them their place" and prepare them for their life taking orders instead of allowing them to do what they want.
