Orphans were forced to have un-inspirational quotes in the collar of their shirt to "teach them their place" and prepare them for their life taking orders instead of allowing them to do what they want.

This was found at the John Soane Museum, this was the only picture I could find of these female manikins with male arms wrapped around them. This connects to a Room With a View because when Lucy was with Cecil he was trying to control her, much like the male arms wrapped around the female manikin in this picture.  This JMW Turner's painting, found in the Turner gallery at Tate Brittan named St Benedetto, looking towards Fusina exhibited 1842. Coming to age as a skeptic/ believer

Here I am standing with one of the many fountains at Hampton Court. This is significant because the fountain in Brideshead Revisited represents Charles's faith. Hertford College at Oxford University where Charles attended and learned to be skeptic   A tree right outside of the Church of Christ Chapel with the inscription "the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nation"  At the Eltham Palace, in the great hall I found it fascinating how on the top of every light they have a crown to symbolize the family's power.  This was in the stairway to Henry VIII's apartment in Hampton Court. Many of these figures in the painting are Greek gods or mythology characters.
